Do I look good naked?

Duffa

July 9th, 2007

If I could save this time, this season with you, I would seal it in my heart and blend it into one perfect year. And in the passage of time, I would love you til the shadows have all gone.

But it is now and you are here and time slips swiftly by. In your arms and in your eyes your love it calls to me, with urgent pleading voice.

The world is rich with sunshine until it meets another dawn, and days flow by like rivers, racing to the sea, where we meet within life’s waters and your love flows into me.

Come ride with me thru spring. I’ll leave you on an iron park bench….. somewhere in the heat of summer, until the autumn leaves decide to fall, and we’ll be off again. …. to nowhere in particular, together.

We’ll ride the wind through autumn’s painted landscape, capturing the hues of earth’s warm coat and sleep under her blanket of snow and frosty air until the sun of springtime wakes us from our slumber.

I awake one morning….. with your hands in mine….. with the smile that is your fire….. and your eyes that are my life. Then the snow begins to melt around us, heated by love’s warm embers.

A flower reached up from the soil and bloomed in the Springtime of our journey and sent us on our way to visit other far off lands.

Know… that I would love you… even as the wind blew cold, even as the sky was no more, wanting only that these arms could hold you… that these eyes could love you.. one more time.. one more forever, until our journey reached the end and Summer bloomed again igniting sparks hidden deep within us.

And I would give my soul to you, arms at my sides.. in the summer of my years.. in the cool of the night, in the depths of my heart.

Our souls would blend and soar together among the starlit heavens until eternity.

Last.fm strikes Sony music deal

July 9th, 2007

The service, bought in May for $280m (£140m) by CBS Corporation, has signed a deal with the Sony BMG record label. The partnership will give the web 2.0 service’s 20 million users access to the entire Sony catalogue of music. Started in 2002, the new deal will make Last.fm the largest web radio service the world, according to the company.

We’ve always aimed to have everything ever recorded available to listen to on our site, and having access to Sony’s collection of some of the world’s most popular music takes us another huge step closer, said Martin Stiksel, co-founder of the service.

Last.fm allows users to connect with other listeners with similar music tastes, to custom-build their own radio stations and to watch music video clips. The software also tracks what users play on their PC or MP3 player to make recommendations.

Thomas Hesse of Sony BMG said this was key in its decision to partner with the UK firm.

The Last.fm streaming service will give our established artists a platform through which they can reach new audiences, and its unique recommendation system will provide our emerging artists with an important opportunity to build their fan base.

First-Time Buyers are the New Poor

July 3rd, 2007

David Pretty, former Chief Executive of the Barratt Group and one of the best-known figures in British housing provision, has called first time buyers the new poor.

Mr Pretty was Chief Executive of Barratt until his retirement at the end of last year. He was also made a CBE for services to housebuilding in the last Queen’s Birthday Honours List, and is now Chairman of the New Homes Marketing Board.

In a statement that is being sent to Housing Minister, Yvette Cooper, he describes today’s first-time buyers as the new poor and calls on the Government to take ten urgent, radical measures to help them, to strengthen the housing market and to underpin future economic prosperity.

These include speeding up the sale of redundant Government land, fast-tracking planning for affordable housing and brownfield land, mortgage tax relief and the scrapping of Stamp Duty for first-time buyers, and tax relief on parental contributions (full list in attachment).

He said that he would like to point out that the financial incentives included in his 10 point plan would only be implemented once there is clear evidence of an increase in supply, lest they add to price pressure. One way or another, however, today’s aspiring first timers are going to need a tremendous amount of help on a wide front.
